Tsawwassen United Church

It feels like summer has arrived and we're finally enjoying some warm weather. Warm weather or not, the kids out of school for me is a true indicator!!

I am pleased to announce that the Fall Fair will happen this year. It will take place on the usual weekend, October 13, 2010. A team of organizers have stepped forward (what a blessing!) and I look forward to working with this team to put on another Fall Fair. We are planning to make some changes to the fair, so please stay tuned. One important thing to note... this year the Fall Fair income has not been included in the budget so it is my hope that the money we raise will not be the focus; rather we can focus more on the fun and welcoming the community to our place.

I'd also like to mention that the Streamlined Board will continue to meet over summer as Rev. Doug Graves graciously offered to attend the meetings as the pastoral charge supervisor during the time that we are without a called Minister. We continue to meet, adjust to the work of the church without Rose~Hannah and thank everyone for their patience through this very steep learning curve we are on.

Don't forget to check the "Summer" bulletin board for upcoming services. We have some good people leading our services this summer that you won't want to miss.

On a more personal note, this summer will be very different for me... my family is heading for the summer to our new lake home at Sproat Lake on Vancouver Island. It's amazing that as I plan to leave for two months, cancelling things and not signing up for things that I normally would that I realize how connected and rooted I am to the community. It's very difficult to leave, but I am looking forward to taking a break from the craziness life can be and enjoying some concentrated family time. I also look forward to catching up with you all in the fall to hear about your summer.
